History and Standards

The Epagneul Breton is the smallest of the pointing breeds, known for its energetic pursuit of game and distinct close-working style in the field, and its sociable, pleasant temperament in the home. A major purpose of The Epagneul Breton Foundation. Inc., is to educate owners, breeders and the public on the history and standards of the breed, and promote recommendations for preserving its unique qualities and characteristics.

The foundation's educational activities include developing, publishing and distributing breed education materials related to the history, development, and current issues concerning the Epagneul Breton breed. The Foundation periodically provides free lectures and makes available instructional books, videos and other resources to those who are interested.
